Takeout foam containers are often not meant for microwave heating. They can melt, soften, or leak when exposed to heat.
If the container is not clearly marked microwave safe, move the food to a microwave safe plate or bowl before reheating.
Also avoid microwaving oily or very hot foods in foam, even for short periods, unless the packaging specifically says it is safe.
Styrofoam is a label first item. If it does not say microwave safe, do not microwave it.
